What is EMDR Therapy?

EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) is a powerful, research-supported therapy that helps people heal from the emotional effects of trauma and difficult life experiences.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR helps you process and release painful memories- without having to relieve every detail. It works by using gentle eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to help your brain reprocess stuck memories and feelings.

Many people who’ve experienced trauma feel “stuck” as if a part of there past is still living in the present. EMDR helps the brain process those experiences so you can move forward with greater ease, clarity, and resilience.

How can EMDR help?

EMDR therapy may help with:

  • Trauma (including childhood trauma)

  • PTSD

  • Grief & loss

  • Life transitions

  • Stress & burnout

  • Low self-esteem

  • Cultural or generational trauma

  • Distress memories

Through EMDR, many clients experience:

  • Relief from trauma symptoms

  • Reduction in anxiety

  • Improved self-worth

  • More emotional balance

  • Greater sense of resilience and empowerment
